During the NEC Classic Motor Show, Iconic Auctioners will offer a rare Norton F1 Rotary with Delivery Mileage on Sunday 9 November. This unregistered copy, one of only 140 ever built, is in factory -new condition and is estimated at £ 30,000 – £ 40,000.
The Norton F1 Rotary was launched in 1990 as a street legal counterpart of the legendary JPS Norton RCW588 racers from Trevor Nation and Steve Spray. With its 588cc Twin-Rotor engine, good for 95 hp, in a Spondon frame with White Power front and rear suspension, the F1 achieved around 145 MPH (more than 230 km/h). In terms of technology and price, he positioned himself firmly in the top class of the Superbikes at the time.
The copy to be auctioned was newly purchased in 1990 and has never been used or registered since then. The counter is only 57 factory kilometers. In recent years, the motorcycle has been part of various private collections and received a highly commended award at the Stafford Show in 2014. What is special is that the machine is delivered complete with original manuals, three keys, press folder, tools, stafford-rosette and the original invoice-a dream for serious collectors.
“The Norton F1 Rotary is one of the most iconic British Superbikes of its time. That we can now offer one in unused, factory new is really unique. For collectors and enthusiasts, this is a Once-In-a-generation opportunity to secure a piece of motor history.”
The Norton F1 Rotary is part of the Iconic Motorcycle Sale during the NEC Classic Motor Show, which takes place on Sunday, November 9 from 11 a.m. in Birmingham’s NEC. Viewing can be done all weekend in hall 2.
