Only 30 are produced by the Aprilia racing department, and in the meantime they are all sold out. What we are talking about? The RSV4 X-GP, the most extreme Aprilia ever, are full of technology that has been taken from the RS-GP MotoGP machine.
The RSV4 X-GP is the newest toy from Aprilia’s extremely exclusive “X” line: a series of pure circuit weapons that comes directly from the Noal Racing Department. Built to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the RS-GP MotoGP Racer, but especially to show that too much power is still not enough.
With 238 hp at just 165 kilos, this is the most powerful RSV4 ever-a power-to-weight ratio that even MotoGP factory teams let their espresso stand for. The aerodynamic wings on legs and ass, the structural carbon seat unit and the official MotOGP liverie finish it: this is not a engine, this is a racing art installation.
According to Aprilia, the presentation during the Catalunya GP immediately caused a storm of reservations. Enthusiasts from Europe, Australia, Malaysia, the Emirates and the US were in the digital row, and within two weeks everything was gone. The “X” line therefore appears to be a hit worldwide under the Happy Few looking for exclusivity, innovation and pure performance.
The media attention was also unprecedented: from social to print, the RSV4 X-GP appeared everywhere. Not surprising, because since the first RSV4 X in 2019, Aprilia has set the bar high with the “X” subsurface for factory-derived circuit machines without compromises.
“The X confirms its status as exclusive and niche brand with enormous potential. Aprilia Racing stands for innovation – and we are proud that we have created an iconic, fully exclusive engine for the true circuit enthusiast.”
According to Aprilia, the RSV4 X-GP was sold out in record time, but that will then relate to the “X” line, not to this kind of exclusive and pricey toys in the broad sense of the word. For example, the Superleggera at Ducati went over just a few days, while according to KTM the RC 8C was sold out in just several minutes.
The thirty lucky ones will, however, save a beet, can be the fastest RSV4 ever starting while the rest of us can continue to dream.
