Sometimes you have to turn off your iPad or iPhone completely. That seems like a simple job, but since the introduction of Face ID it has become difficult. You can’t just hold down a physical button, it requires a special combination. Fortunately, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 adds a hidden power button to your iPhone and iPad.

Normally you can turn off the device completely by pressing and holding the side button and one of the volume buttons simultaneously until the power off screen appears. Thanks to a new virtual button you can now easily switch off the device.
