Volkswagen is busy with the test phase of a new version of the Golf Variant. Some will think that it is a packed Variant Alltrack, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Volkswagen was recently released Caught for the first time during the test kilometers with the Golf Variant. In addition to a regular station wagon, the increased Alltrack was also recorded. The black and white packaging of this new prototype suggests that we are dealing with the same Alltrack, but if you look closely, you will see that this Golf Variant is slightly lowered and not raised. The double set of exhaust pipes, blue brakes and thicker bumpers further reveal which Golf we are dealing with: the new Golf R Variant.
This sporty R version is also available from the previous Golf Variant. It is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI engine with 300 hp. In addition, this is not just a 2.0 TSI, but the 4Motion four-wheel drive variant. For a mid-range station wagon, this powertrain means that the Golf is quite fast: within 5.3 seconds it sprints to 100 km / h, pedaling up to 250 km / h. Nothing is known yet about the new powertrain. The disclosure is likely to take place soon.
