With such stormy weather as today it may not be advisable to hit the road with this new prototype 911, because just look at that immense rear wing! We are introduced to the Porsche 911 GT3 RS for the first time.
As we have come to expect from Porsche with the 911 series, over time we encounter the most diverse versions of the sports car. Where a 911 Turbo S can provide a lot of fun on the track, it can always be a bit more extreme. Porsche has now started testing with that extremist. The 911 GT3 RS again promises to be the most suitable candidate for the circuit. The ‘regular’ GT3 had already been secretly recorded earlier. Where that does not promise to be a wallflower, Porsche traditionally takes it a step further with this GT3 RS version.
On the eye, this RS gets an even larger rear spoiler, the exhaust system now ends in the middle of the rear and all bumpers and side skirts are turned on just a little bit thicker. In addition, the spy photographer knows how to photograph the ‘hood’ extensively. Although Porsche has been busy there with camouflage material, we can clearly see that there are large ventilation openings. In addition, the front fenders also get extra air holes.
Nothing officially has been announced about the engine violence, but in the corridors there is talk about the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter six-cylinder that Porsche recently used. The regular GT3 would produce 510 hp from that, the RS of course a little more. The discontinuing GT3 RS was sent off with 513 horsepower under the hood. The presentation is expected in a few months. It is remarkable to see how the yellow 911 Turbo S that in some photos follows the black 911’s wake almost looks like a wallflower with its compact rear spoiler in comparison to the rear wing of the GT3 RS. So that still promises something!
