Bentley is celebrating a small party at its home base in Crewe, UK, as it has hit a new production milestone with its Flying Spur. The 40,000th copy sees the light of day.
It has been fifteen years since Bentley launched the first (modern) Flying Spur. The recipe quickly became clear: the sturdy Briton was inspired by the three-door Continental GT, but had to offer more space for passengers such as limousine. It is therefore not for nothing that the Flying Spur was initially called ‘Continental Flying Spur’. After fourteen years, the third generation of the soothing luxury Briton has been driving around since last year.
The 40,000th car is painted in the iconic British Racing Green. A team of 250 people each worked 100 hours on all 40,000 Flying Spur’s. Of all 68 markets where Bentley sells its cars, half of the limousines go to customers in China and North America. Ten percent of the Flying Spur stays in their home country of Great Britain.
