Lynk & Co 01 facelift surfaced

The Lynk & Co 01 is, as its name suggests, Lynk & Co’s oldest model. Although the car has yet to appear on the market here, a facelift is waiting for the now three-year-old model.

With the 01, the still young Lynk & Co kicked off its modeling offensive in 2017. The Chinese subsidiary brand of Geely, also Chinese, already sells cars in its homeland, of which this is the oldest. It is therefore not surprising that a facelift is coming. This is especially interesting for Europe, because the facelifted 01 could well be the first model of the brand that is also delivered here. After all, Lynk & Co intends to start (purely online) sales here at the end of this year.

It must of course be your taste, but the 01 has a quirky carriage right from the start. The facelift does not really detract from that. The wide grille across the width of the nose seems to remain. We also spot the daytime running lights placed very high on the front in between the camouflage. At the rear, the camouflage on the bumper indicates that there may be some changes there, although it will also be quite minimal there.

The spotted copy has a Swedish registration and there is a good explanation for this. Lynk & Co is, under the wings of Geely, a sister brand of Volvo. In Sweden, the brand is therefore being prepared for its European debut. The connection between the two brands does not end there, because this 01 is after all on the CMA platform known from the Volvo XC40. The 1.5 three-cylinder from the XC40 is in service in the 01 and is also available with the support of an electric motor. We also see that plug-in version here and it is probably the variant that we will eventually encounter most often in our country. It (currently) has a system power of 223 hp, just a little more than with the comparable XC40 T3. The 01 is also available in conventional trim, with a 182 hp variant of the blown 1.5 and a 2.0 four-cylinder turbo engine of 242 hp.
