From only 1 euro at the official RDW body
Registration certificate
The RDW warns against brokerage sites that charge high costs to arrange a registration certificate and / or ascription code for you. These intermediaries also sometimes turn out not to provide the services at all.
Do you need a new or replacement registration certificate? Or do you not (anymore) have the ascription code that you need to apply for a registration card? On the internet, various intermediaries offer to arrange this for you at the National Road Traffic Service (RDW). However, the costs that they ultimately charge you are above the statutory rate. Sometimes you have to pay 20 euros for the code, while the RDW itself does not cost more than 1 euro.
The mediators often suggest acting on behalf of the RDW, but this is not the case. The RDW now warns not to use these intermediaries. All the more so because the official body receives reports that some intermediary sites do not provide the paid services at all. Or that the products are delivered so late that you run the risk of being fined.
The statutory rates charged by the RDW are 1 euro for an ascription code and 31.50 euro for a replacement vehicle registration certificate. It does not charge any additional costs on top of that. You can download the code using DigiD from the official RDW website and you can also do the license plate application there. By the way: when you buy a car through a reliable car company, you will receive the ascription code from this company.
