Little by little, Honda is releasing more footage of the renewed Odyssey. Today we’ve got our hands on not only new photos of the front of the Spatial Japanese, but also a first image of the modified rear.
Honda is about to present the renewed version of the Odyssey, mainly intended for the Japanese and Asian markets. The current generation of the large MPV has been on the price lists since 2013 and will in any case receive a revised front and a modernized buttocks. The front of the modified Odyssey was previously seen and now an image of the rear is also available.
The more than 4.8 meter long Odyssey gets a front where different headlights, a wider grille and a new front bumper determine the appearance. The Odyssey is also tightened at the rear. The MPV gets new rear lights, which are no longer as strong towards the sides as the current ones. The lighting units are now more horizontally oriented and have an almost BMW-like signature. A chrome strip running over the entire width of the rear, which continues into the rear lights, connects the light units here. Honda also gives the Odyssey a modified rear bumper, although the differences with the current one are not earth-shattering. The current version of the Odyssey can be seen in pictures 5 and 6.
The Odyssey has also been refreshed inside. For example, it gets a revised dashboard, complete with modified outlets for the ventilation system, a digital instrumentation and a new steering wheel. Furthermore, the sliding doors can now be opened by moving your hand over a sensor. Honda will soon announce more about the closest competitor to MPVs such as the Kia Carnival / Sedona, Nissan Serena and Toyota Alphard / Vellfire.
The Netherlands
The Odyssey is not coming to the Netherlands, although a distant ancestor of the MPV is no stranger here. Between 1994 and 1998, Honda delivered the Shuttle in Europe, which was already known elsewhere in the world as Odyssey. After the disappearance of that first generation of the model, the model split into a line for the American market, and one for the international car market. In March this year, the American variant was facelifted and now Honda is showing how the updated international variant is being designed.
