Tesla lowers Model S prices in the Netherlands

Tesla has made the two available variants of the Model S cheaper, according to the most recent prices that the company has tacitly changed. Both the Long Range and the Performance are now € 3,000 cheaper. The prices of the other models are unchanged.

The available configurations of the Model S have now become quite clear. There is currently a choice of two variants: the Long Range and Performance. From now on, the Long Range costs € 79,990, while the Performance has to yield € 96,990. The two variants cost € 82,990 and € 99,990 respectively. Please note, these are the prices excluding delivery costs of € 1,015. Including that amount, the Long Range now costs € 81,005 and the Performance € 98,005. The 1,100 hp top version Plaid can already be ordered, but will only be officially released on the market later. The price of this remains unchanged at € 139,990 (€ 141,005 with delivery costs). This also applies to all variants of the Model 3, Y and X, Tesla only gives a discount on the Model S.

In the Netherlands, the Model S experienced a peak year in 2018. Then there was only a 4 percent addition to be paid over the entire catalog value of the car when you lease it for business purposes. In 2019, the limit for the addition discount was set at € 50,000, causing the expensive Model S to drop sharply in popularity. Where Tesla sold 5,622 copies of the ‘S’ in 2018, there were only 527 in 2019. For this year the counter is at 154 units. By comparison: 4,307 new copies of the Model 3 have already been registered this year. Given that the additional tax benefit for EVs will only be cut back next year, the discount will probably mean little for the current, low popularity of the Model S.
