Polestar is not happy with the Polestar 2. For the second time this month, the electric five-door is involved in a recall. It is not yet known how many copies are involved in the Netherlands.
Polestar reports that 4,586 units of the Polestar 2 electric are being recalled worldwide. The inverters of almost all Polestars 2 supplied will need to be replaced. The inverters, or ‘inverters’, are responsible for converting the energy stored in the battery pack into power for the electric motors.
The recall goes hand in hand with fixing another potential problem with the Polestar 2. For example, the first batch of Polestars 2 delivered should also consider the High Voltage Coolant Heater (HVCH). This HVCH unit is responsible for heating both the battery pack and the interior. In total, this involves 3,150 Polestars 2 that should be looked at by this unit. Both recalls can be combined with each other. The Dutch importer tells Techzle that 900 Polestars 2 in our country are involved in the new recalls.

Anyone in possession of a Polestar 2 affected by the recall will be contacted by the brand starting November 2, according to Polestar. Cars not yet delivered will be adjusted first. This can logically delay delivery. All recalled copies are immediately prepped for ‘Over the Air’ updates that Polestar plans to implement in the future.
Earlier this month, it was announced that 2,189 Polestars 2 worldwide had to be returned to the garage. In three copies of the Polestar 2, the drive stopped spontaneously. That problem would be purely software, so a software update should be enough to prevent the potential ailment. The previous recall involved 280 Polestars 2 in the Netherlands.
