Diesel executioner Audi SQ5 tightened

Audi has updated the SQ5. The sporty top version of the Audi Q5 has been visually aligned with its tamer brothers and sisters, which were facelifted in the middle of this year. The question is, is he coming to the Netherlands?

Highlights

  • 341 hp and 700 Nm strong monster diesel
  • 0-100 km / h in about 5 seconds
  • Optically modernized
  • Early 2021 in the Netherlands

The Audi Q5 facelifted in June this year distinguishes itself with a renewed muzzle and a slightly modified rear of the Q5 as it came on the market four years ago. Initially, only the plug-in hybrid 50 TFSI e and 55 TFSI e would come to the Netherlands, but that is changing. Audi also brings diesel executioner SQ5 to our country. Let that sportiest version of the Audi Q5 now also be renewed.

The SQ5 has a 3.0 V6 TDI as power plant since this generation of Q5 in the Netherlands. The former 347 hp and 700 Nm of strong diesel power has been fine-tuned and now meets the Euro 6D Full emissions standard, which will take effect from 1 January 2021. The 3.0 TDI loses some horsepower and now delivers 341 horsepower and 700 Nm. This power is distributed over all four wheels via an eight-speed S tronic automatic transmission. Up to 85 percent of the power can be sent to the rear axle. In 5.1 counting sprint to 100 km / h. The top speed is limited to 250 km / h. The 48v mild-hybrid system naturally remains intact, which means that the SQ5 can ‘sail’ again with the engine switched off.

The SQ5 TDI gets the same nose and butt as the already well-known Q5, although things are of course just as sportier. For example, Audi gives the sportiest Q5 an S sports suspension with active dampers. Audi offers a sports differential as an option. Also available for an extra charge: air suspension and dynamic steering. 20-inch alloy is also standard.

Good news for the Dutch market: the SQ5 TDI is coming to the Netherlands after all! Audi opens the order book in December. The first copies will be delivered in the first quarter of 2021.
