Order version Suzuki Jimny relieves regular Jimny

The Suzuki Jimny has disappeared from the price lists in the Netherlands for a while, but it returns! More spacious than before, but at the expense of the rear seats.

Two months ago, Techzle was the first to report that an order version of the Suzuki Jimny is coming to the Netherlands. The Suzuki Jimny Professional has now also been officially announced for a market launch in early 2021. As we suspected at the time, the arrival of the Jimny Professional also marks the end of the passenger version that was available here earlier. According to the importer, it will not return.

The order version has to make do with only two seats, but of course you get the necessary space back in the back. The luggage compartment is 863 liters in total thanks to the absence of the rear seat. The loading floor has also been made flat. It’s that easy. Compared to the regular Jimny with the rear seat flat, the Professional takes 33 liters more luggage. Up to 150 kilos of stuff can be transported, as opposed to the 115 kilos it used to be. A net behind the seats ensures that the occupants do not just head for packages when braking strongly. Furthermore, everything remains the same and the 1.5 four-cylinder with an output of 102 hp still serves as the power source.

Now, of course, the big question is; what does this version do with the price of the Jimny? Unfortunately, we heard in September that the model is not eligible for a gray license plate because of its dimensions, so that bpm is simply calculated. The exact starting price will be reported by Suzuki later, but do not count on a significant price drop compared to the regular version. Delivery of the Jimny order will start in the first quarter of the new year.
