The Honda Jazz has been subjected to a crash test. Partly thanks to the latest technology, safety is awarded with five stars.

The new generation Honda Jazz, also called Jazz e: HEV because of its hybrid drive, has undergone a crash test. Independent safety institute Euro NCAP has subjected the compact car to tests according to the latest, strict guidelines. The Jazz passed with flying colors and received the maximum five stars.

Euro NCAP rewards safety in the front (‘adult occupant’) with 87 percent. The score for safety in the back (‘occupant child’) is little less than that at 83 percent. Honda has also thought of cyclists and pedestrians, as the 80 percent score for ‘vulnerable road users’ shows.

The Honda Jazz also scores well on side impact protection. This is partly due to the innovations we wrote about extensively earlier: the front airbag in conjunction with the seat belt tensioner. Other new safety features include the Advanced Compatibility Engineering frame and the new camera. These contribute to the score of 76 percent on the ‘Safety Assist’ component. Yet Honda has not forgotten the ‘old-fashioned’ solutions. The panoramic windscreen offers better visibility than before.
