Five different Honda Civics used

A completely new Honda Civic is on its way! The new Civic is a lot quieter in design than what we were used to from Honda in recent years. It is a good time to list a number of Civics on the used car market. This varies considerably in terms of power and price.

Honda Civic

1. Honda Civic 1.5 GL (1985) – € 999

The oldest Civic in the used car range here at Techzle.nl is this 1.5 GL of the third generation, built in 1985. This Civic has a fairly straightforward design. Striping with GT logos at the bottom of the doors should provide some frivolity. Minimalism predominates in the interior. There is not much luxury, but a radio with USB connection has been used. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder produces 86 hp, which is quite adequate, especially considering the Civic’s year of manufacture. The top speed and the acceleration time are not known, but with a curb weight of 825 kg, that power should enable you to keep up with the traffic. Considering the year of construction, the mileage of 184,763 km is still modest. In the photos, the Civic also looks pretty good. It was originally delivered in the Netherlands and has had seven owners. The selling party reports that the car drives and shifts well, but the MOT expired in November 2019. Can you help him get back on the road?

Honda Civic

2. Honda Civic 1.3I IMA (2005) – € 1,250

A real hybrid for just over € 1,000? With the Civic IMA you can! IMA stands for ‘Integrated Motor Assist’, or a small electric motor that helps the fuel engine to reduce consumption. This system is similar to that of the Toyota Prius, but the main difference is that the hybrid Civic just has a manual transmission. The Civic Hybrid that the IMA succeeded, incidentally, does have a CVT machine. From the outside, the Civic IMA does not look anything special, especially in the silver gray. The same goes for the interior. All you can tell that you are dealing with a hybrid is the IMA logo to the right of the speedometer and the meters for the battery level and the degree of assistance provided by the electric motor. With a maximum power of 83 hp, the Civic IMA is by no means a stripe tractor. This car already has a lot of experience and despite its austere appearance it is equipped with things like automatic air conditioning, electrically operated windows and seat heating. You will have to find out during a test drive whether it all works.

Honda Civic

3. Honda Civic Coupé 1.7i LS (2003) – € 2,950

Prefer slightly fewer doors and a sportier appearance? Then this Honda Civic Coupé might be something for you. This Civic is of the seventh generation, it was also the last time that Honda delivered the Civic Coupé in the Netherlands. Its appearance is smoother than the engine under the hood. With 120 hp and 157 Nm of torque from a 1.7-liter four-cylinder, the Civic sprints to 100 km / h in just under 10 seconds and you can just kick it to 200 km / h. On the other hand, the stated combined fuel consumption of 1 in 14.3 is quite neat considering its age. Also for this copy applies that the interior has a pretty sober look with a lot of black plastic. It does have air conditioning. With 226,498 kilometers on the clock, he has some experience, on the other hand, according to the selling dealer, he recently had a major overhaul. Moreover, the second and last owner kept it in possession for 14 years!

Honda Civic

4. Honda Civic 1.8 Sport (2007) – € 6,950

Where the above Civics all look fairly conventional, the eighth generation of the Civic is by no means. This hatchback may look most like a spaceship in appearance, both in exterior and interior. At the front, the headlights are striking, which seem to run across the entire width of the car. The middle part around the logo is not provided with lighting. At the rear we see the same with the rear lights, but the split rear window is perhaps the most striking design element. It has to be your taste, but you will stand out anyway, especially with the bright red color of this specimen. As a 1.8, it has an output of 142 hp and that makes the Civic quite smooth from its place. He has only 84,662 km behind his teeth and is apparently neat. For just under € 7,000, this is a car that you can potentially enjoy for years to come.

Honda Civic

5. Honda Civic Type R GT (2019) – € 46,900

Admittedly, the jump in price after the previous one in this list is quite large. For this Civic Type R of the last generation, you just pay a small 40 grand more. You get a lot in return. Honda seems to be giving the upcoming Civic a slightly more conservative design, but with the current generation, the brand did not want to know anything about it. The 320 hp Type R does not hide its sporty character at all. The bumpers have been changed, three exhausts are visible behind and of course a large rear spoiler should not be missing. He seems to have ridden off like that Need for Speed: Underground. The red details on the exterior match well with the bright red seats and stitching in the interior. If this is all a bit too much of a good thing, then of course you have the option to get in a Type R cheaper.
