Ferrari comes with a new track car. The 488 GT Modificata is basically a combination of elements from the 488 GT3 and GTE. Since it is not intended to compete in official racing classes, and therefore does not have to comply with applicable regulations, all brakes were allowed to release.
Because the Balance of Performanceregulations of the FIA do not apply in this case, the twin-turbo V8 now delivers 700 hp. In the GT3 class, this can only be a maximum of 600 hp, depending on the weight of the car. The gearbox ratios are adapted to the extra engine power. The body of the GT Modificata is, like the 488 GTE, largely made of carbon fiber. Furthermore, the aerodynamics have been examined, which means that the GT Modificata generates 1,000 kilograms of downforce at 230 km / h. The suspension comes from the 488 GTE and the adjustable ABS system has transferred Ferrari from the 488 GT3 Evo.
So with the 488 GT Modificata you cannot participate in official FIA racing classes, but you can participate in Ferrari Club Competizioni GT events. This is a Ferrari racing series in which all kinds of race cars of the brand can participate, from the F40 Competizione to the 488 GT3 and now also the GT Modificata. The 488 GT Modificata will initially only be available to customers who have raced with Ferrari before. They can personalize their GT Modificata completely according to their wishes. It is not known how many copies Ferrari will build of the circuit-488 and what it will cost exactly.
