Skoda Fabia Combi returns

The next generation of the Skoda Fabia will also be marketed as a Combi. With that, the compact Czech gets the empire for himself.

Skoda is working hard behind the scenes on the next generation of the Fabia. To date, the new Fabia is still fairly shrouded in mystery, since it has only been spotted disguised as Polo. However, it is quite obvious from a technical point of view what we can expect from it. After all, it shares its basis with the aforementioned Volkswagen. One of the most important uncertainties was whether the Fabia Combi will return. The word is now out: Skoda CEO Thomas Schäfer confirms on his LinkedIn page that it is indeed coming.

The new Fabia Combi gets a true monopoly, namely that of the B-segment station wagons. The last remaining competition came from Renault and Dacia, with the Clio Estate and Logan MCV respectively. The Clio has already cleared the field and the Logan MCV is swinging with the arrival of the new Sandero / Logan. Peugeot was also active in that playing field with the 207 SW and Seat with the Ibiza ST. According to Skoda CEO Schäfer, the choice to just continue with the Fabia Combi is one no-brainer: “This is very important to us as it underscores our desire to offer affordable and practical mobility in the lower segments.” The new Fabia will be released in the course of the new year.

In Techzle 48 we look extensively ahead of the new Skoda Fabia. That number is still in the shops until today. Prefer to read Techzle from your lazy chair? Also possible, because you can order here.
