Surprising news regarding Mitsubishi. The brand new Outlander ran into the lamp without any camouflage material.
Mitsubishi has been working on a new generation of the Outlander, the bigger brother of the Eclipse Cross. Facebook page Allcarnews got his hands on a bunch of photos of somewhat poor quality from the new Outlander. The current generation, which was in great demand in the Netherlands mainly as a plug-in hybrid PHEV version, will, however, be the last to come to the Netherlands. Mitsubishi has previously indicated that it will no longer ship new models to Europe. The facelifted Eclipse Cross is therefore one of the last, perhaps the last, modified Mitsubishi to come to our country.
Mitsubishi Outlander (current model)
The new Outlander is clearly inspired by the Engelberg Tourer Concept that Mitsubishi showed at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. The revised Outlander is a lot more angular and therefore more rugged than the current model. The rear lights are a lot wider and flatter and the D-pillar is also a lot more playful with its running chrome-colored strip. Mitsubishi even tries to create the illusion of a so-called with a black strip at the top of the D-pillar floating roof to awaken. The front is typical Mitsubishi New Style, and so here too flat LED daytime running lights with a floor below the actual headlights. It is not yet clear whether it will share its base with the new Nissan Rogue, soon our new X-Trail, from alliance partner Nissan. Of course there is also a plug-in hybrid in the planning, but as mentioned, it is very likely not coming to the Netherlands anymore.
