The Skoda Kodiaq, presented in 2016, will blow out its fifth candle later this year and that means that the model is eager to undergo a makeover. The updated Kodiaq has now been publicly caught in camouflage costume!
Although the Yeti was already laced with the necessary SUV elements, it was the Kodiaq presented in 2016 that entered the books as Skoda’s first ever SUV. The model has now been on the market for several years, which means that Skoda has an updated copy in the development rooms. By the way, do not expect very drastic external changes.
The blue test specimen visible in these photos is covered with stickers here and there, which prevent us from seeing the novelties. It seems that the Kodiaq is getting revised headlights, units that are accompanied by adapted LED day-free lighting that, as before, will be placed one floor below. Although Skoda is creative with the camouflage stickers, it does not seem that this bottom layer of lighting is cut up in two parts. The design department in Mladá Boleslav gives the Kodiaq a new grille that may be more upright than the current one. Continue to focus on new bumpers all around and rear lights with a new layout.
Skoda Kodiaq GT (China)
Techzle expects Skoda to present the updated Kodiaq to the world around March. Incidentally, it is not obvious that Skoda will use the facelift of the Kodiaq to bring the Kodiaq GT, a version with a more sloping roof line, to Europe, which is only intended for China. The relatively fierce Skoda Kodiaq RS will most likely return to the international car market in modified form. Since the Dutch market introduction of the Kodiaq in 2017, 9,194 units have been sold in our country. Last year, the Skoda Kodiaq in the Netherlands even had its peak year, when 3,200 were sold over the counter. A year earlier, only 9 (!) Fewer units were sold.
