Geely shows new Volvo-based SUV

The parent company of Volvo Cars has shown the first images of a new SUV. Geely shows under the working title KX11 an SUV that uses a well-known base.

Geely releases the first photos of a three-row SUV. A set of somewhat shadowy images shows the KX11, a seven-seater SUV whose relatively angular body houses a platform known in Europe. Underneath the skin lies the CMA platform, a modular basis that we know from the Volvo XC40 and Polestar 2. Incidentally, many models of Geely’s Lynk & Co also go through life on that platform, such as the 01, 02, 03, 05 and 06. A crossover and a sedan with CMA base are already sold under the Geely brand name: the Xingyue and the Preface.

The Geely with project name KX11 cannot be denied any technical similarity with the XC40. The car, which is expected to be about 4.8 meters long, has an angular front with headlights and a grille that are somewhat reminiscent of the XC40. A striking feature is the segmented LED daytime running lights fitted in the headlights. Extensive technical specifications are not yet known. Geely is expected to pull the curtain on the final production version in Shanghai, China. It is not yet known what the model will be called.
