Porsche Taycan offer is expanded

Porsche shows with a shadowy teaser photo that news is coming for the Taycan. It is probably a new entry-level version, which previously appeared in China.

In the teaser photo above we see four Porsches Taycan, of which three have a well-known version on the back, but one (on the far left) has nothing there. ‘Family extension’, reports Porsche. So a new version of the Taycan is imminent. That can only mean one thing: the rear-wheel drive entry-level version is coming this way.

Last summer, Porsche already pulled the curtain off the Taycan in China and we already heard that it would not be exclusively reserved for China. In China, the entry-level vehicle has no name – it is simply called Taycan – and it has not two but one electric motor. As mentioned, it drives the rear wheels and is good for at least 408 hp power and a range of 414 km (NEDC). That is, if you go for the smallest (79.2 kWh) battery pack. With the 93.4 kWh Performance Battery Plus package, the Taycan throws 476 hp to the rear wheels and, according to the NEDC cycle, reaches up to 489 km on one battery charge. All in all, that gives a good indication of what we can expect from it, although Porsche may have some changes in store for the other markets.

Chances are that with the arrival of the entry-level version, the starting price of the Taycan will drop below a ton. Currently, the 4S is the ‘cheapest’ Taycan with a starting price of just € 110,000. Porsche says we can expect more news soon.
