Consumption costs electric passenger bus as a conventional car

Peugeot e-Rifter
Peugeot shows the Rifter electric passenger bus. The brand targets relies on people and companies who want to drive electric, but do not want to spend extra compared to fossil fuel models.
The Peugeot Rifter passenger car is now also available with electric drive. According to the brand, it has (almost) comparable operating costs as a conventional car. The purchase price – not yet disclosed – will be higher, but the buyer will save on energy consumption and maintenance. In addition, there are benefits in the form of subsidies, tax benefits and a higher trade-in value.
Electric drivetrain
The Peugeot e-Rifter has an electric motor of 100 kW / 136 hp and a torque of 260 Nm. The speed is limited to 135 km / h. The 50 kWh battery pack (measured according to WLTP) enables a range of 280 km. As standard you will receive an 11 kW three-phase charger with the car. Charging up to 80 percent with a 100 Kw fast charger can be done within 30 minutes.
Conveniently, you can schedule a charging session. You can also choose to what extent you want to recover energy. With the MyPeugeot smartphone app it is possible to preheat the car and remotely.
Specifications
The electric Rifter has 16 inch wheels. There are also small differences in the interior compared to the fuel model. These are the standard digital, 10-inch Peugeot i-Cockpit, the ‘e-Toggle’ transmission control, an electric parking brake and the drive mode switch. The central touchscreen displays model-specific information.

Peugeot e-Rifter
The e-Rifter Standard is 4.40 meters long and offers five seats. The Long version, with a length of 4.75 meters, can be ordered for both five and seven occupants. The rear seats can be folded under the floor and are removable. The right front seat can also be folded away. For example, the luggage space of the e-Rifter (minimum 775 liters) can be increased up to 4,000 liters. In addition, there are compartments here and there that can store another 186 liters of stuff.
Behind the passenger bus a trailer can be towed up to 750 kg with braked weight. Just like the regular Rifter, the wide tailgate of the electric version has a separately opening rear window. The car’s equipment, with driver assistance systems and infotainment, is almost the same as the fuel-driven Rifter. There will be four trim levels on the market, which we will tell you more about at the time of market launch.
