RAI Association is pleased with the fact that consumers can visit shops and showrooms by appointment. For a long time now, cars and other vehicles can be sold ‘live’ again.
RAI Association says it is pleased with the cabinet decision to allow shopping by appointment under strict conditions. The interest group says in recent months it has urged the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate to expand the previously existing ‘click and collect’ measure with ‘sale or appointment in the showroom.’
General Chairman of the RAI Association Stephan van Eijck calls the cabinet’s decision a first step towards a complete reopening of the retail trade. Good advice and good information are crucial when purchasing a means of transport, according to Van Eijck. “Modern cars are full of driver assistance and safety-enhancing (ADAS) systems that require extensive explanation. The same applies to consumers buying an electric car for the first time. This also requires the necessary explanation from the seller to ensure safe use.” According to the chairman, this information can be “[…] fine in a showroom or shop by appointment within a predetermined period. “RAI Association says it assumes that the delivery of new passenger cars to the showroom, by appointment, will soon be possible again.
Stores may have a maximum of two customers in the store or showroom at the same time. Consumers must register for this 4 hours in advance. Companies with multiple floors may admit two customers per floor. The visit appointment is for at least ten minutes.
