Jaguar test renewed E-Pace

The Jaguar E-Pace is being prepared for the next round. The SUV has been running for more than two years, but is already being held up to the light by Jaguar. It is not a major change of course, but perhaps the biggest changes are not immediately visible.

With the Jaguar E-Pace, the British do their bit in the bag among other things, the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40. Not yet with overwhelming success, by the way. The E-Pace is somewhat difficult among those competitors due to its relatively high weight. That we see few changes on the above espionage photos on a different grille and bumpers, is therefore not very surprising. Jaguar probably focuses mainly on changes under the coach.

For example, it is quite possible that the updated E-Pace is on an improved basis. The current one shares its basis with the first Range Rover Evoque, but it has since been thoroughly updated. The Evoque (and the related Discovery Sport) have been on a thoroughly revised version of that platform since their refresher. For the E-Pace, that flag could logically go up sometimes, with possibly a weight reduction as an additional advantage. It also offers new basic options for a mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid version of the E-Pace. As a plug-in, a 150 hp 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, coupled with an 80 kW electric motor, is obvious.
