Not sure exactly what you’re in the mood for? Then set the Music app to shuffle, which plays songs in a random order. You can also easily play songs again.
Turn on shuffle in the Music app on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
Most people will be familiar with the term shuffle. This shuffles the playback order of an album or playlist. To activate the shuffle mode of the Music app on iOS 13 and iPadOS:
- Open the Music app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch ;;
- Play a song, album or playlist according to your preference;
- Tap the song title at the bottom;
- Then select the three lines at the bottom right of the screen;
- Finally, tap the shuffle icon, recognizable by the two arrows that cross each other.
The shuffle icon will now turn red. From now on, the next tracks of the album or playlist will be played in a random order. You can see the specific order in the overview at the bottom. Touch and hold the three dashes next to a song and drag the track to change the order to your liking.
Tap the shuffle button again to return the album or playlist to “normal” order. Do you want to shuffle all songs? Then go to the ‘Library’ tab and tap ‘Numbers’. Press the ‘Shuffle’ button at the top, after which it turns red.
Repeat songs
In addition to the shuffle button, it is also possible to play songs twice. To do this, tap the button next to the shuffle mode, recognizable by the two arrows that follow each other. Pressing the button once will repeat the current playlist once.
Tap the button twice to play the song you are currently listening to again. Are you done with this track? Then tap the repeat button again to turn the mode off and listen to songs once again.
