This is how a WhatsApp mailing list works

  1. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone;
  2. Go to the Chats screen and tap ‘Mailings’ at the top;
  3. Press ‘New list’ at the bottom of the screen;
  4. Now add all the contacts you want to send the message to;
  5. Now tap on ‘Create’ and write your message.

As soon as you have sent the message, the contact persons will receive the message individually. This means that no group conversation is created, but everyone receives the same message. This is ideal for party planning or reporting a change of address.

Please note that only contacts who have your number in their address book will receive your message.

The advantage of mailing lists is that you can quickly and easily inform large groups of people about something, without having to create a group conversation. Many people find it annoying to participate in all kinds of group chats as it usually ends in no time on the topic.

Modify and delete

Do you remember something at a later time and do you want to adjust the mailing list? Which can. To do this, simply open the mailing list in WhatsApp and tap the information icon. Then you can change the name of the list. It is also possible to add or delete contacts here.

Is the party over, or is everyone aware of your new address? Then it’s time to delete WhatsApp mailing list. To do this, tap again on the ‘Mailings’ button in the app (at the top of the ‘Chats’ screen). Then swipe the list you want to delete to the left and confirm by pressing ‘Delete’.
