New Skoda Fabia inside

Skoda’s marketing department is very busy sending out images showing small bits of Fabia. After a sketch of the exterior, Skoda is now releasing a design sketch of the interior.

Skoda has a new generation of the Fabia in the development rooms. It will be presented in May, but before that, we will be served some warming material. The interior can be seen in this design sketch. The Fabia will be more Polo than ever. In fact, the new Fabia will be built on exactly the same basis as its more expensive German family member. From previous espionage photos it could already be concluded that the Czech is also clearly on the outside on the outside of Polo, and that relationship can also be seen in the interior.

For example, the placement of the ventilation grilles on the center console and the control element of the climate control underneath fully corresponds to that of the Polo and, of course, the placement of the rotary knob with which you operate the lighting can also be found on the left of the dashboard. But Skoda didn’t just pull the dashboard out of the Polo to screw it into the Fabia unchanged. In fact, there is a striking amount of ‘own’. For example, the Fabia has more cheerfully designed round ventilation grilles on the corners of the dashboard and its own infotainment display that protrudes more from the dashboard. In addition, Skoda equips the Fabia with the two-spoke steering wheel that the brand already introduced in the Octavia.

The new Fabia will be presented at the beginning of May. It is 4.11 meters long, 1.78 meters wide and 1.46 meters high. If we put it next to the current Polo, it is striking that the Skoda is 5 centimeters longer. The wheelbase of the Fabia (2.56 meters) exceeds that of the Polo by one centimeter. That gives the Skoda, among other things, a larger luggage space. The luggage space of the Fabia consumes 380 liters. The Polo kicks it to 351 liters. The new Fabia comes on the market in the Netherlands with 95 hp and 110 hp 1.0 TSIs. More later.
