Fiat Argenta – In the Wild

You probably know the Fiat 132, Fiats ‘big’ sedan from the 70s. You probably even know the Fiat Croma, the great Fiat from the 80s and 90s. But do you also know the Fiat Argenta?

We had to visit him, that Fiat Argenta. It is in fact a heavily updated version of the aforementioned 132, so forgive us if we park it on our list for ‘Facelift Friday’. For now, however, we’ll stick to ‘In het Wild’, because Wouter Bregman spotted one of the reportedly fourteen Dutch copies for us.

The Argenta is so rare, among other things, because it was only recently in production. The model succeeded the 132 in 1981 and was already pushed aside by the Croma in ’85. Compared to the 132, the Argenta got a completely new front and rear, making the car look like a product of the 80s in one fell swoop. The abundance of plastic elements, such as the bumpers and grille, in particular guarantees this. The combination of city light and direction indicator placed on the corner is also typical of this period.

The Argenta spotted by Wouter is one with the most powerful motorization. The two-liter four-cylinder delivers 122 hp, while the basic version had to do with a still acceptable 96 hp. It is an original Dutch car that recently changed hands, but previously belonged to the same owner for more than thirty years. So much loyalty often goes hand in hand with a lot of love and that shows in this beautiful Fiat.

Wouter Bregman made his photos public via the Techzle Forum, where the what-you-saw-for-special-today-topic forms an almost constant stream of special spots. We would therefore like to thank him for the images and cordially invite anyone who has not yet done so to have a look around the forum.
