Mercedes-AMG S-class better view

It is no secret that Mercedes-AMG is working on a top version of the current S-class. Affalterbach peeled off part of the camouflage skin of the S AMG, making the appearance of the sporty flagship already quite visible. Although it remains to be seen which variant we are dealing with here…

The last question is mainly because Mercedes-AMG is also working on a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Reportedly, this E-Performance powertrain with 4.0 V8 in its strongest form should be good for around 800 hp. The charging port on the left rear on this prototype betrays that it at least has a plug-in hybrid powertrain, since the filler opening for the fuel tank is on the right rear of the S-class. Mercedes-AMG has not yet announced the specifications of the final versions. It could be that we see the top model ‘S73e’ here and the less envied S63 gets the mild-hybrid powertrain from the GLS 63, but it is also possible that both versions get a charging port. So wait and see. In any case, count on at least 634 hp.

In any case, Mercedes-AMG follows a well-known recipe for the new S63/S73. Large air intakes are visible in the front bumper and at the rear is a diffuser with four exhaust trim pieces under the bumper. Larger brake discs can also be seen behind the multi-spoke wheels to be able to adequately bring the colossus to a halt. The new S from AMG does differ from its predecessor on one important point and that is that the star is no longer on top of the nose. The S-class is now also fitted with the AMG-typical Panamericana grille with the star in the nose. That must almost result in an imposing sight in the rear-view mirror of unsuspecting motorists.
