Ramadan has started again; From now until May 23, Muslims will fast during the day. With these 4 iOS apps, your iPhone or iPad will lend a hand.
The best Ramadan apps
Muslims around the world will again face a significant challenge in the coming weeks. Ramadan has started and that means a period of fasting, which means they don’t eat until after sunset. Fortunately, there are a number of useful apps in the App Store. They help you plan your prayers, show handy clocks that show exactly how long it is until the sun goes down and much more. These are our four favorite Ramadan apps.

Our Favorite: 1. Muslim Pro
If you’re looking for one app that has everything Ramadan iPhone apps have to offer, Muslim Pro is the right place for you. The app has a built-in prayer time calculator, which tells you when it is time for prayer based on your location.
The app also contains a digital version of the Quran and the app even trains you to improve your pronunciation while reading it. Also handy: the built-in map on which you can find halal restaurants and mosques in your area.
Muslim Pro has been fully translated into Dutch and fifteen other languages. That makes the app accessible to everyone. Due to the clear design with colored circles and a clear clock that is directly in the picture. The app is free to use, but has some features hidden behind a paywall.
You can purchase these monthly, annually or once. This allows you to listen to the Quran offline, among other things, the advertising disappears and more color themes become available.

2. Athan Pro
Do you have an Apple Watch? Then Athan Pro is also worth a try. This app has a built-in complication for your watch face, on which you can see exactly how long it takes until the next prayer starts.
Although Athan Pro is a bit less extensive than the app above, it wins if we look purely at the design. The app has a beautiful dynamic home screen that changes appearance based on the time of day. Another nice extra is support for Siri Shortcuts, so you can set your own voice command.
3. Ramadan Times
With its tidy interface, the Ramadan Times app is also a great alternative. This app has an extensive list of features, such as a built-in calendar and a compass that always points to Mecca.
Also this app needs permission to your location data to really work properly. You can also find a handy list of mosques near you here and calculate the distance between you and Mecca.
4. Ramadan Legacy
Do you love to plan? Then try Ramadan Legacy. This app has a lot of what the apps above have, but it mainly relies on the built-in 30-day planner. With this you can clearly map the days that you are fasting.
In addition, the app encourages you to learn something new every day with special cards added to this planner. The app has a simple design with large buttons and a calm-looking appearance.
