The App Store has added thousands of new apps in the past week. For example, Google Maps lets you save maps offline, a new Grand Theft Auto game appeared and Facebook Messenger got an update.

This week it became possible to save offline maps with Google Maps. Not only can users view the environment, they also get the opportunity to use the navigation. In addition, Google Maps also provides information about local businesses, such as restaurants, even when you are not connected to the internet. You can then see opening times, as well as contact information and reviews.

Do you have a car in mind and want to quickly check when the MOT expires or what the consumption is, then a license plate checker comes in handy. With the new Kenteken Check app, you can do this on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Using voice control, you enter the license plate on the Watch, after which you select what you want to know about the vehicle in a menu.

A new part of the successful game series Cut the Rope has appeared. Cut the Rope: Magic is all about the magical power that allows Om Nom to transform into other creatures. This gives a whole new twist to the well-known game mechanics of cutting ropes. The base is still standing: in each level the monster has to eat the candy and you can collect three stars.

Facebook Messenger has received an update that makes it all set for users with an iPhone 6S. The 3D Touch update makes it possible to perform actions from the home screen by pressing the app icon hard. This way you can immediately start a new message with one of your contacts or go to the message window of your favorite contacts.

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories was originally released for the PlayStation Portable, but is now also playable on the iPhone. Liberty City Stories plays in the same environment as GTA III, with the improvement that you can now enter more buildings and that you can ride around on motorcycles. Furthermore, the camera work has been adapted to this time and the missions have been shortened for short game sessions.

With version 4.0 it is also possible to book your international train journeys directly from the app after planning a journey. The price of the trip is shown directly with the travel advice.

Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen makes a comeback with Swing Copters 2, a game that is perhaps even trickier than the original and again controlled by rhythmically tapping the screen. Graphically, Swing Copters 2 has been slightly improved, with new environments, characters and menus.

The driving style app Flo, which has been available for iOS since July, will give users the opportunity to save on their car insurance. The ride score in the app is equal to the discount they get. From February 2016, using the app can provide a discount on your car insurance. Flo works together with insurance company Whoosz, which gives a discount based on your trip score.

Badland is one of the most beautiful iOS games and developer Frogmind has released a sequel as a surprise. The environments are just as beautiful as in the original and the gameplay is the same. You control a woolly creature that flies through an environment in 2D. Along the way you will encounter other critters that you have to take with you to the end. You try to save as many as possible, but it is quite difficult.
