Stella Vita: solar-powered motorhome

Solar Team Eindhoven has presented a very innovative camper van. We are introduced to the Stella Vita, a car that generates all its energy with solar panels.

At the beginning of this year, the students of Solar Team Eindhoven of – of course – TU Eindhoven showed a first sketch of what it then called SHOW, a self-sustaining huhouse On Wwhole. That SHOW is now presented in tangible form and is just like the previous one solar cars from Solar Team Eindhoven to the Stella family. The ‘SHOW’ is now called: Stella Vita.

The Stella Vita is a big monster that can best be described as a camper or camper that generates all the energy it needs with solar cells. The roof of the slightly banana-shaped Stella Vita is completely covered with solar cells, but there is more. Two fold-out copies are hidden under the visible panels, with which the surface of the solar panels is 17.5 square meters. Under optimal conditions, the Stella Vita should be able to drive up to 730 kilometers.

The Stella Vita has a lifting roof and of course offers sleeping options. The Stella Vita is going on a working holiday with Solar Team Eindhoven this year to the southernmost tip of Spain, about 3,000 kilometers from home. The Solar Team Eindhoven consists of 22 students from Eindhoven University of Technology who are fully committed to developing solar-powered vehicles. In recent years, the Stellas have served as inspiration for the Lightyear One, an EV with solar panels that should be launched in the Netherlands this year. You can read more about this here.
