Peugeot makes electric driving affordable

Have you been thinking about electric driving for a while, but is the higher purchase price still an objection? That need not be a reason to switch to the most environmentally friendly way of driving today. Because if you opt for a mobility budget instead of a company car or if you are going to lease privately, you are in control and nothing stands in the way of driving away in a quiet and clean electric Peugeot.

If you want to compare the purchase price of an electric car with the fuel version, it is important to take a comparable version. So with just as much power, automatic transmission and rich standard equipment. Then the picture suddenly looks completely different and you see that the electric version is often more attractive. If you opt for a private lease, the monthly amount for the electric version turns out to be even lower than that for the petrol car.

Meet the Peugeot e208 and e2008

Peugeot has managed to keep the prices of the e208 and e2008 SUV low by building these models on the same tire as the 208 and 2008 with fuel engine. There is no need for a separate factory for the electric versions and thanks to the scale of production and the fact that no separate model had to be developed, substantial savings have already been made at the base. And that in turn helps the customer save. The e208, with its 50 kWh battery and up to 340 km range, is available from €29,650. The e2008, a compact SUV, has the same battery pack and a range of up to 320 km and is available from €34,530.

Lower maintenance costs

Thanks to the lower lease rate, the purchase price is no longer an issue. How is that possible? Firstly, thanks to the exemption from motor vehicle tax and bpm. In addition, the maintenance costs of an electric car are low. Just think: no oil changes, the brakes hardly wear out (an electric car mainly brakes on the engine and thus recovers energy) and an electric motor does not have air and oil filters. And then there is the residual value. In a few years’ time, today’s new electric car will be a sought-after occasion.

No more refueling

As you may know, a private lease includes everything: maintenance, depreciation, insurance and replacement transport. You only pay for the fuel, in this case the electricity. This can be done via a public charging station, but it is even cheaper if you can charge in your own driveway. In both cases, the mileage costs are drastically reduced and with the ever-rising fuel prices, it’s great not to have to worry about that anymore.

The advantages of a mobility budget in combination with private lease:

  • Free choice in model and version
  • Free choice in duration
  • Free choice in energy-efficient and cost-saving drive
  • No tax addition
  • Mobility costs through better budgeting and management of free choices
  • Tax-free allowance for business and commuter kilometers €0.19/km
  • Unspent part of the mobility budget often counts as gross salary
  • Subcontract with partner, family members or friends for lower monthly payments
  • No breach of contract or without a car at another job
