You can read this in AutoWeek 39

AutoWeek 39 will be in stores from tomorrow or will fall on your doormat this week. This is what you can expect in it.

With the iX, BMW presents a striking electric car, which is quite promising on paper. The appearance may take some getting used to, but underneath it lies an impressive EV, which proves that the i-label has continued to develop behind the scenes. Marco Gorter was able to put the iX to the test.

Mercedes Benz EQA vs. Audi Q4 e-tron

A lot lower in today’s EV range, we find the Mercedes-Benz EQA and the Audi Q4 e-tron. Both cars that we also know in a different capacity to a certain extent. For example, the EQA shares its basis with the GLA and the Q4 e-tron is a cousin of the Skoda Enyaq and Volkswagen ID4. Badge engineering, in a sense. Which badge works best?

Those who are not too fond of electric cars do not have to leave AutoWeek 39 on the shelves. What about our driving test with the Audi TT RS? Yes, it is still there, including a fairly recently renewed appearance and of course that wonderful five-cylinder. Jan Lemkes set out with it in the southern French mountains. Someone has to do it!

The TT RS is obviously in an extremely small niche. Once that was also true for crossovers, but nowadays you are just not thrown to death with it. The Nissan Qashqai is one of the absolute sales stunners and for those looking for a used copy, there is plenty on offer. This also applies to the Toyota C-HR, which perhaps appeals to the imagination a little more. We put two young used copies next to each other.

On the occasion pages you will find, among other things, a Ford from the time when many brands still printed a steel folding roof on compact middle class cars: the Ford Focus CC. Jesper Fassotte has one from 2008 with which he makes quite a few kilometers. The clock now indicates 303,000 km and because we do not often see a Focus CC with so much experience, it is a good candidate for a Clock Round inspection.

Finally, at Beek Auto Racing in The Hague, we drive a fairly modest car on the roller bench: the Volkswagen Up. The Up in question, however, no longer sticks to the 60 hp it originally delivered. At least, that’s what owner Max Boxem hopes. He put money into tuning the Up and now he wants to see if it has paid off.

All that and more can be read in the latest AutoWeek. It will be in stores from Wednesday this week. Would you rather not go out? Order from the comfort of your home the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your doorstep within two working days.
