Many phones now include a fingerprint reader. To take advantage of this device with complete peace of mind, a few rules are in order.
Biometrics invade our daily life: most mid-range smartphones are equipped with a fingerprint reader. This device is much more practical and faster to use than entering a password. Provided of course to have configured the fingerprint recognition in an optimal way.
Multiply footprints

This precaution is essential if you want to use your mobile’s biometric sensor without having to worry too much about how you hold the phone. Start by recording the thumb or index fingerprint of your dominant hand depending on whether the sensor is located on the front or back of the device. Also consider situations where the phone is placed on a table or when you will be forced to use the other hand. To deal with all cases, a cut or injury to a finger that would require you to wear a bandage for example, take the imprint of both thumbs, index and middle fingers.
Regularly clean the sensor

The reliability of fingerprint recognition relies on its own sensor. If reading errors increase, clean the reader with a microfiber cloth used for spectacle lenses. By erasing the greasy marks left by your fingers, you will also prevent residues from settling on the sensor when your phone is in your pocket or at the bottom of a bag. To prevent scratches on the reader, which may hinder recognition, protect your phone with a protective case or a flip cover type case.
Don’t forget to set a strong PIN code

Android and iOS have it all figured out, even a failure of the fingerprint sensor. If the user fails to identify you, you can still unlock the phone using the PIN code. Be careful, what applies to you also applies to someone who manages to get their hands on your terminal. So avoid combinations that are too easy to guess (0000, 1234, date of birth, etc.).
