Creating an animated Gif image from a video does not require a fancy editor app and can be done simply, via a website.
With website gifs.com, it is very easy to turn a portion of a YouTube video into a moving Gif image. The site offers an automatic mode and a manual mode with the control of several parameters. To convert, launch your internet browser, go to the YouTube site and copy the address of the video you are interested in. Then go to the gifs.com site.
1 – Automatic mode
- Click on Products at the top of the window, then on AUTO GIF MAKER in the list. The option is also available at the bottom of the window.

- Paste the address of the YouTube video in the white area with the mention Paste a youtube URL. Then choose the extract of the video that suits you by clicking on it, then click on the button keep on going.

- The GIF is then automatically created and you have links to use it. You can also download it by clicking on the button DOWNLOAD GIF but you must then create an account on the site.

2 – Manual mode
- Paste the link of the YouTube video into the main window and click the button keep on going. The video editor then appears.

- Move the button Pick Start Time with the mouse and click on it to validate. The portion of the video is then selected and you can then click on the start and end of the selection to edit it.

You have on the left many functions which allow for example to add blur, change the tint and invert the image. It is also possible to choose a portion of the image by clicking on the function Crop. Three quick access icons at the top are used to create captions (Caption), add stickers (the choice of stickers is limited) and use preset effects.

- Each function that you add and placed under the timeline and you can modify it or even delete it by clicking on the trash can icon.

- When everything is convenient for you, click on the button Create Gif located at the top right. Then click on the button Next. A window offers you to switch to the paid version of the service and you must then click on No thanks.

The final GIF then appears with its user links and download button, as in automatic mode.
