Google has just unveiled new extensions designed to facilitate the integration of content into your emails.
To save you time in managing your emails, Google unsheathed smart replies, short response suggestions generated by an AI so that you can respond more quickly to received emails.
To save you extra time, Google has just unveiled its Compose Actions, a new type of extensions for Gmail that allow you to integrate third-party services directly into the composing window of a new message.
Compose Actions create a direct link to the online services you use most often, to explore their content and easily and quickly insert attachments, without having to leave Google’s mail service. Another advantage, once installed on Gmail, they are also available on mobile applications.
So far, Google has unveiled four extensions using Compose Actions (Box, Dropbox, Egnyte and Atlassian), but more should be available soon. Here is how to use them.
1. Access the add-ons
Open your Gmail box. To access the add-ons, click on the cogwheel at the top right, then on Download add-ons.
You can also activate the display of the right sidebar which groups together the already existing add-ons by clicking on the small arrow, then clicking on the + button.

2. Install the module
A G Suite Marketplace window opens with a selection of extensions compatible with Gmail. Look for one of the extensions using the Compose Actions (Dropbox in our example), enter the extension’s detailed file, then click Install.

Validate by clicking Continue, then select the Gmail account to connect the extension to. Then validate the access authorizations by clicking on Authorize.

3. Create a new message
Then click on New Message to open the window for composing an email. At the bottom of the latter should appear the icon of the extension you just installed.

Click on it to open the extension then log into your account by clicking on Sign In.

Once your account is signed in, you should be able to access the contents of your Dropbox directories. All you have to do is click on an item to add it directly as an attachment to your email.
