The latest iOS update for iPhone introduces a new feature to manage permissions to track your activity in apps and on the web. Here is how to use it.
This is undoubtedly one of the most important new features of iOS 14.5: the new function that allows you to manage the monitoring of your activities online and on applications is finally available. Now, developers of iOS applications are required to ask for your permission to track you in order to be able to offer you personalized advertising.
The option, which knows how to be discreet, allows you to completely disable tracking requests to prevent applications from tracking you, or offers to manually select which applications are allowed or not to track your online activities.

If you’ve chosen to Allow App Tracking Requests, apps installed on your iPhone that engage in ad tracking are supposed to display a pop-up expressly asking for your permission to track you. Here’s everything you need to know to best manage tracking on iOS.
Also to discover in video:
1. Open Settings
To access the option to enable or disable follow-up requests, open iOS Settings and go to the Privacy menu. Then enter the Monitoring section.

2. Activate or deactivate tracking
By default, the option to Allow app tracking requests is enabled. To never be tracked, switch this setting off.

No application will then be allowed to track your activities online and on other applications. You will therefore not receive any notification when you open your applications asking you to authorize or not the tracking.

If you want to allow follow-up requests, activate the option. The list of applications that have requested permission to track you will then be displayed and you can decide on a case-by-case basis which ones are authorized to track your online activities.
