Great for being on top of everything, web notifications are also intrusive. Not to mention authorization requests to subscribe to notifications. This is how you get rid of it.
You may have noticed that more and more websites are asking for your permission to send you notifications. If these can be very useful to stay abreast of the latest news offered by a site, you often choose to ignore the alert by clicking on “Later”.
Unfortunately, with each new visit, the authorization request to send you notifications will appear, and this until you make a decision.
To avoid having to manage these requests each time you visit a site, it is entirely possible to deactivate the functionality. Just like on Google Chrome, Firefox allows you to disable these too intrusive pop-ups.
1. Access Browser Preferences
Open Firefox, click on the button to deploy the main menu, and go to the preferences of the browser.
2. Enter the Privacy and security settings
In the menu displayed on the left, click on Privacy and security. Scroll through the options offered until you reach the section dedicated to Permissions.
Locate the row dedicated to Notifications and click on the Settings button.
3. Block new requests
In the window that is displayed, check the box next to Block new requests to activate notifications displayed at the bottom of the page.
Confirm your preferences by clicking on the Save changes button.
