Inbox, Google’s experimental messaging system, has officially closed its doors, but it’s still possible to enjoy it a bit.
Inbox, it’s over. After a little over four years of experimentation, the alternative to Gmail mailbox is dead and buried. Google had announced it a few months ago, explaining that it wanted to refocus on Gmail, which recently benefited from a redesign and new features.
But users who have become accustomed to the interface and features of Inbox will probably find it a little difficult to suddenly change their habits.
Never mind, there are several solutions to continue to enjoy the Inbox interface, and even its features for users on Android.
Find the Inbox interface on PC
From a desktop computer, if you cannot find all the features offered by Inbox, it will always be possible to use its Interface in Gmail using an extension.
This will require using the Google Chrome web browser and installing the free Inbox Theme for Gmail extension.
Once active on Chrome, you don’t have to do anything other than log into your Gmail box to see the messaging interface display colors and an architecture similar to that of Inbox.

Continue to use Inbox on Android
If you have an Android smartphone, you may have noticed that the latest version of Inbox no longer works and invites you to switch to Gmail.
However, by installing an older version of the app, the message disappears and the app remains fully functional. You will be able to take advantage of it by downloading version 1.77 dating from last September.
