One of the most important models of General Motors has been renewed. We are talking about the GMC Sierra, the sister model of the immensely popular Chevrolet Silverado that, in addition to a revised appearance, also gets a completely new interior.

For many years, GMC has had its own version of the Chevrolet Silverado on its menu in the form of the Sierra, a pick-up that, like the Silverado, has to compete with cars like the Ford F-150 and RAM 1500. Although the Sierra scores less impressive than the Silverado, among other things because of its higher price tag, making it an important model for General Motors. Although the Sierra sold far fewer units this year than the Silverado (420,000+), at around 195,000 units, it is by far GMC’s most popular model. The Silverado was recently facelifted and now the Sierra is also being tightened up.

Tightened up might be an understatement. The facelifted GMC Sierra gets a revised front with a completely new grille that now has to do without extensions at the bottom and which is flanked by new headlights. The more vertically oriented viewers have a C-shaped LED element that is located more outside the unit and continues further down. GMC also gives the Sierra new bumpers on both the front and rear and on the back we also notice a new tailgate.

A stronger wind of innovation is blowing in the interior. The GMC Sierra gets a completely new interior. Almost every part is new. Not only the dashboard, but also the door panels have been completely renewed. The somewhat simplistic-looking dashboard of the original presented in 2018 has been replaced by a cockpit in which horizontal lines dominate. High on the dashboard are wide ventilation grilles, lower a large 13.4 inch wide infotainment system and behind the steering wheel is – depending on the chosen version – a 12.3-inch measuring digital instrumentation. Like the Silverado, the Sierra benefits from the arrival of Super Cruise, General Motors’ semi-autonomous driving system.

GMC will soon supply the Sierra as a luxurious Denali, among other things. The AT4X version is new, a version that feels even more at home off the beaten track. GMC brings, among other things, a new four-cylinder to the Sierra, a blown 2.7 that has a 5.3 V8, a 6.2 V8 and a 3.0 six-in-line diesel engine as alternatives.
