Take screenshots of your entire web pages, without clipping, and without third-party extensions, directly from your browser.
If you happen to take screenshots of web pages to keep certain information, you have probably already had to take several captures in a row for pages whose content is too large to be displayed completely on your screen.
Rather than taking several captures and putting them end to end in image editing software to get the full preview of a page, why not capture the page in its full height?
You will not need any third-party extensions for this. Whether on Firefox or Google Chrome, both browsers integrate this possibility, with all the same more ease for Firefox which has a formidable tool.
On Firefox
The Mozilla Foundation web browser has thought of everything. Still too few people know it, but Firefox natively integrates a screen capture module.
To find it, click on the three small dots displayed to the right of the address bar, right-click on Take Screenshot, and choose Add to Address Bar from the menu that appears.
Then click on the screenshot icon displayed in the address bar. You are then offered two choices: capture the entire page, in all its height, or capture only the visible area.
Click Capture full page to start the screenshot.
Check the preview of your capture, and click Download to save the capture which will be saved in the download directory.
Not all content may be displayed on the full screen capture. This is because the browser did not load all the elements on the page. If this happens to you, scroll down the entire page to load the different elements first, before launching the screenshot.
On Google Chrome
Taking a full screen screenshot on Google Chrome is a bit more complicated. Concretely, the Google web browser requires that you go through the browser development tools. You can do this by navigating through the browser menus, but the easiest way is undoubtedly to use keyboard shortcuts.
On macOS, do in order, Alt + cmd + i, followed by Shift + cmd + p.
On Windows, use the shortcuts Ctrl + Shift + i and Ctrl + Shift + p in order
A window allowing you to execute a command is then displayed. Enter Screenshot and click Capture Full Size Screenshot.
The screenshot should automatically be generated and saved to the download directory.
