Save all your Instagram posts and permanently delete your social network account.
From the mobile application, the main way to access Instagram, creating an account on the social network is easy. On the other hand, when it comes to wanting to permanently delete your account, the platform seems less inclined to let you go.
Even if you search carefully, in the different menus offered, it is impossible to permanently delete an Instagram account from the mobile application. However, the social network was, at its inception, only available on iPhone, before arriving, a few years later, on Android.
Since then, water has flowed under the bridges, and the social network has become accessible from any web browser, via its dedicated site. And it is from there that you have to go, via a menu not really easy to find, to hope to delete your account. Here’s how to save all your posts, and permanently disappear from the social network.
1. Save your publications
Before you permanently delete your Instagram account, maybe you want to save the wonderful photos and videos – which did not always garner the number of likes they deserved – that you posted on the platform.
To do this, open the application from your smartphone and go to your profile. Open the main menu, and enter Settings.
Then go to the Security menu, then to Download data. Fill in the email address on which you want to receive the backup, and click on Request a download.
Confirm by entering your account password, press Next then Finish.
Within 48 hours, a download link including all of your Instagram posts should be emailed to you.
2. Go to the account management page
Officially, to delete your Instagram account, you must go to the Support page, from the Instagram home page, without already being logged into your account.
Then enter the menu dedicated to the Management of your account and click on Delete your account.
Pull down the menu How do I delete my account? and, finally, click on the Delete my account link to finally get to the deletion page of your Instagram account.
Log in to your account, optionally validate the security steps (if you have enabled two-factor authentication), and confirm the connection.

3. Delete your account
Before letting you go, Instagram will try to hold you back one last time by asking you why you want to delete your account.
Click on the drop-down menu, choose a proposal, and confirm the deletion of your Instagram account by entering your connection password in the field provided for this purpose.
Finally, click on Permanently delete my account to remove it permanently from the platform.
