The year 2021 is three-quarters over, which means that almost all new models that became available in 2006 have reached the young-timer age. We give you some golden tips!
Volvo C30
The Volvo C30 is our favorite of the new youngtimers. Nice and quirky and because it never got a real successor, you will drive something unique for a long time to come. Citroen C6
This lovely French limousine saw the light of day in 2005, but sales only started in 2006. The Citroën C6 had a touch of CX and a touch of SM and, like its predecessors, was full of technology that was modern at the time. Initially only with V6, both petrol and diesel, in November 2006, however, a 2.2 four-cylinder HDiF also appeared. So a diesel.
Volvo S80
The second generation of the Volvo S80 is a more conservative choice than the C6, and perhaps it provides a little more security in daily use. Incidentally, we find the first generation of the S80 more characteristic of design. But if you don’t want to stand out with a large sedan in which you can stay seen for years to come, the second S80 is a must. And you already had it in 2006 with a V8!
Ford S-Max
An MPV as a desirable youngtimer … yes! The S-Max came on the market in 2006 and you had a version with such a delightful five-cylinder turbo engine. That is a special combination: a beautiful sound, a lot of power and very dynamic driving characteristics. With this character MPV you will laugh at every modern SUV owner.
Mercedes-Benz R-Class
The R-class from Mercedes is now typically such a car that when it is new raises the necessary question marks, but for which an enthusiast audience still arises as the years go by. He represents a genre that Mercedes-Benz no longer has in the range.
Cadillac BLS
An American should not be missing from this overview. So in the middle of the first decade, Cadillac went full throttle and tried to make it work for the European market. Including the BLS, a car that shared technology and engines with the Saab 9-3. You also had it as a Wagon, but that variant will only reach the young-timer age in 2022.
