
The iOS 13 update introduces the possibility of activating a dark theme to preserve your eyes. Here are all the possible ways to activate it.
Dark Mode on the iPhone remains undoubtedly one of the most anticipated new features of iOS 13. It allows you to abandon the classic white interface in favor of a black interface, more modern, and which allows you to some small energy savings on iPhones equipped with an OLED screen.
iOS 13 offers several possibilities to activate dark mode. It is possible to proceed manually or to let the system activate it automatically, according to the sunset and sunrise, or during a period of time to be defined.
You can also decide to manage it yourself, using the dedicated settings menu, or by configuring a shortcut. Here’s everything you need to know about the dark theme of iOS 13.
1. Activate the dark theme manually
First possibility offered by iOS 13 to take advantage of the dark theme, activate it manually. Open iOS Settings and go to Brightness & Display. From this menu, you can switch from light theme to dark theme and vice versa, in one tap.

2. Use automatic activation
You may also prefer the automatic activation of iOS dark theme. Still from the Brightness and Display menu in iOS Settings, activate the Automatic option.
Enter Options, and set the automatic activation mode you prefer. You can choose to let the dark mode activate From sunset to sunrise, or choose a Custom Schedule.

If you opt for the latter option, you can set the time to activate the light theme, in the morning when you wake up for example, and the time to activate the dark theme, at bedtime.
3. Activate the dark theme from the Control Center
If you don’t want to configure automatic activation but don’t want to have to navigate through the various iOS Settings menus to activate it, the dark theme can be activated directly from Control Center.
Unfold it and hold your finger down on the Brightness setting. At the bottom of the screen, you will find a button to activate Dark Mode.

4. Configure a shortcut
It is possible to go even faster to activate the dark mode of iOS: by configuring a dedicated shortcut in the Control Center.
To do this, open the Settings of iOS 13 and go to the Control Center menu. Enter Customize Controls and then in Other Controls tap the + button next to Dark Mode to include it in Control Center.

You can, if you wish, modify the position of this shortcut by moving it up or down in the list of shortcuts by keeping your finger pressed on the icon with three superimposed lines.

Then deploy the Control Center on your device: you should be able to activate or deactivate the dark mode of iOS 13 on the fly by tapping on the dedicated shortcut
