Incorporate exotic fonts used in your documents to make it easier for others to open them.
Sharing documents produced in Word or PowerPoint can sometimes present certain compatibility problems when opening on another computer. This is particularly the case with the display of certain somewhat exotic fonts which, if they are not installed on the machine on which the file is opened, replaces the unknown characters with squares and breaks the layout and the layout. of the document.
To avoid this kind of disappointment, Word and PowerPoint include an option to embed the fonts used in the document in the saved file. When opened, the document will retain its layout and can be edited, unlike a PDF which freezes the layout.
1. Open options
From your document, click on the File menu and go to Options. Then go to the Registration section.

2. Embed the fonts in the file
At the bottom of the options offered, choose to Incorporate the fonts in the file by checking the appropriate box and validate by clicking on OK.

Note that by choosing to embed fonts in your file, the file size can increase considerably.
To reduce the size of the file, you will have no choice but to select a different font, or to choose to embed only the characters used in the document. This last option will however limit the possibilities of editing the document by a third party.
