There is an option in Microsoft’s operating system settings to prevent the computer from restarting to apply an update when you are using it.
Who has never railed when Windows decided to restart in the middle of an important project to apply the installation of a system update? Microsoft’s OS is in fact customary.
After downloading the update file in the background and starting its installation, Windows usually decides to restart your machine in order to free some system files that need to be changed while the update is being applied.
However, it is possible to prevent the operating system from restarting when you are most likely to use your PC. Here is how to do it.
1. Open settings
Click on the Start menu and then on the star wheel icon to access Windows Settings. Then enter the Updates and security menu.

2. Access the update options
On the Windows Update tab, click Change active hours.

The window that appears allows you to configure the hours of the day when you are most likely to use your computer. Then click on Save to save your settings

Once the activity hours have been correctly configured on your machine, Windows will not be able to automatically restart the PC for updates to be applied.
Updates will be downloaded and installed outside of the hours set in the Hours of Operation
