Delete the usernames and passwords saved by Google and entrust the management of your passwords to a dedicated utility.
Like many Internet users, you may have left it to your web browser to manage your login details and passwords. Whether it’s for ease or laziness, it’s time to shake up this bad habit and leave the management of this sensitive data to a dedicated utility.
Contrary to popular belief, adopting a specialized tool to manage your passwords is not as painful as it seems. All you have to do is export your keychain first, then import it into the new password manager. The transition is quite simple to make and will allow you to keep your passwords secure on all your devices.
But when this step is taken, you quickly get used to the comfort of being able to find all your information in the same application, forgetting the elements stored in the browser. Better to clean up a bit and completely delete this sensitive information. Here’s how to remove passwords saved by Google Chrome.
1. Secure your passwords with a dedicated password manager
Start by backing up your already existing password ring by exporting the browser’s usernames and passwords, then importing them into your password manager.
If you want, you can take our dedicated walkthrough that explains in detail the steps to get started with Bitwarden.
2. Go to Chrome settings
Once all of your passwords are successfully exported and saved within a dedicated password manager, open Chrome, click on the main menu, and go to Browser Settings.

3. Enter the password manager
Under the Autofill heading, click Passwords. By clicking on the options button represented by three small dots, you will be able to delete each password individually.
While you’re at it, remember to uncheck the Offer to save passwords option to avoid accidentally saving a password in the browser.

However, this method remains laborious. Fortunately, it is possible to delete all the passwords saved in the browser at once.
To do this, from the Settings panel of Chrome, go to Advanced settings, go to the Privacy and security menu, and click on Clear browsing data.

In the pop-up that appears, go to the Advanced settings tab, check the Passwords and other connection data line, then click on Clear data.

All logins and passwords saved in Chrome and synchronized with your Google account will be permanently deleted from the browser.
