You will find this slider in the basic settings of the battery. We are talking about the battery icon in the taskbar. If you slide it all the way to the left, battery life is preferred.
This feature is especially useful for laptops, of course, which often fluctuate between better performance and longer battery life. On most laptops, the slider hangs somewhere in the middle, to offer the best of both worlds. It is also possible that a manufacturer places the slider of a tablet or laptop with Windows on board all the way to the left, in order to be able to offer the longest possible battery life. Whatever laptop you have, it certainly doesn’t hurt to at least take a look at that slider, provided you’re still stuck with Windows 10 for the time being, of course.
Controlling energy balance on Windows 11
You won’t find that accessible slider in the same place on Windows 11. From now on you will find it in the Settings app of the system. When you now click on the battery icon, you will see a small menu with all kinds of settings that you can quickly adjust. Think of settings related to WiFi, sound, Bluetooth, brightness and accessibility. How do you get to the settings related to setting the energy consumption? And how can you improve the performance of your laptop with Windows 11? It’s all possible with Windows 11 Power Mode.
To get there, right-click on it Starticon and otherwise press the combination Windows key + X. Click now System and then the options related to your battery. Find the cup now power mode and click on it. Choose the option that suits you best. You can choose Recommended settings, Good performance and Best performance. Incidentally, it may be that which options are offered per hardware manufacturer, but in many cases it is something along the lines described above. Keep in mind that when you opt for the best performance, your laptop’s battery will run out faster without a constant power supply.
