The Audi Q7 is big. It stands on the same platform as the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg, but surpasses both with its imposing dimensions. You would think there would be no market for an even bigger SUV than the Q7, but Audi sees it differently. In these spy photos, the Audi Q9 is driving, which will compete with the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS in America and the Middle East.

Audi continues to expand its model range. At the end of the eighties, the German brand had four models: the 80, 100, V8 and Coupé. Now there are twenty-eight! And that number will continue to grow, partly due to the introduction of new electric models and the Q9 shown here. The massive SUV is no doubt coming to Europe, but will see its greatest success in North America, the Middle East and Asia.

Audi Q9 becomes full-size SUV to American taste
The Audi Q7 is a big car, but in the United States it is not even considered a full-size SUV. So an even bigger model is needed to appease the Americans. The Q9 – as it will probably be called – has seven seats as standard and offers buyers the choice between an electrified twin-turbo V6 and V8. There will also be a plug-in hybrid variant with an electric range of about 50 kilometers.
